We all know someone who likes taking pictures as a hobby and to be fair they probably have a decent camera and a fantastic set of snaps they have taken. This is far removed from the level of skill required to orchestrate wedding photographs and ensure the right pictures are taken at the right time.

The one thing that an amateur will not have is the experience of 100s of weddings. A specialist wedding DJ will have met 100s of couples and 1000s of guests so they know what music works and when to play it – even if the music is selected by you a professional DJ knows the time when it will work and the order in which to play it.
Knowledge
Your wedding DJ should know every stage of a wedding. They must be able to make every announcement clearly and introduce each step of the evening in such a way as to generate excitement and enthusiasm. You want your first dance to have emotion and meaning and your last dance to end the evening on a high! In between, it’s nice if all your guests hear a familiar song that may persuade them onto the dancefloor or an old family favourite sing-a-long.
As a specialist wedding DJ, I often have an additional role besides the evening entertainment. This weekend I am providing ceremony music and background music for the wedding breakfast. In this way, the music will be professionally edited and mixed so that the correct songs are on at the right time for the ceremony and the volume during the wedding breakfast will be adjusted where necessary.
